For a being as relatively close as it is to the America, Mexico sure takes you a world away from your worries! Travel south of the border to a place that has everything the consummate or novice traveler is looking for: trendy resorts, rustic seaside villages, lush countryside, mountains, jungles, and, of course, stunning beaches! One place that seems to have it all is the island of Cozumel, which is located off the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in the Caribbean Sea. Besides lots of wonderful restaurants, shops, historical and natural sights to see, the diving and snorkeling is among the best in the world. The Plancar Reef is home to thousands of beautifully decorated fish. However, for those who wish to stay above sea level, if not exactly dry, there are lots of other things to do and see. Visit the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, go on a or spend the day at Xcaret Eco-Archaeological Park. There are dozens upon dozens of other shore excursions you can participate in, like shopping, sightseeing, active adventures, and hanging out on a party boat.

A destination that you have to experience for yourself to believe is Calica/Playa del Carmen on the eastern side of the Yucatan Peninsula. This place still retains the feeling of the small fishing village it once was; however, much of its architecture is a completely modern, a throw-back to the rustic atmosphere it used to have before it became the great tourist destination that it is today. Although this destination is popular with tourists and offers lots of adventurous activities, it is still a wonderful place to enjoy the privacy of a quiet vacation; if all you want to do is drink a pink cocktail with an umbrella in it or have your kids bury you in the sand or, you’ve found the place. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, a destination that has something for everyone: shops, restaurants, clubs; jungles, countryside, rivers, and, of course, stunning beaches. Puerto Vallarta is a mixture of quaint, old-world charm in which it seems time has stopped, and modern delights that go on forever.

Mazatlan, the “Pearl of the Pacific,” is a wonderful seaside resort to visit while on a cruise through the Mexican Riviera. Originally settled by the Spanish in 1531, Mazatlan and was a major port and village on the Pacific coast. To this day, Mazatlan has kept alive that wonderful mixture of the old and new worlds. For example, you can do some shopping at Mazatlan's Golden Zone, home to Mexican and Mayan handicrafts. It's the perfect way to celebrate the colors, songs, and dances of ancient and colonial Mexico as well as learn about another culture. Another Mexican Riviera port that attracts is Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas has beautiful natural vistas, such as the well-known “El Arco,” a rock formation located where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. Cabo San Lucas is located in what’s called the Cabo Corrido, a twenty-mile stretch of coast between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, a historic 18th Century Mission town worth visiting. But if you’re scene is one of bars, restaurants, shops, and non-stop parties, “Cabo Wabo” will not disappoint either. You can spend the day relaxing on the beach or bustling through the many resort attractions.

It’s called the Cinderella of the Pacific, and like a glass slipper, Ensenada is sure to be a perfect fit for your next travel experience. Just south of California in Baja Mexico, surrounded by the high peaks of the Sierra Madres and the glittering bay, Ensenada is an attractive fishing and tourist town. It’s a great destination for travelers of all ages, and a place where the perfect vacation experience is not at all hard to find. Have fun surfing, horseback riding, whale watching, mountain biking, beachcombing, shopping, hammock-swinging, and wine-tasting (Ensenada produces 90% of the country’s reds and whites). As you can tell, Mexico is less a destination on the map as it is a wish granted, and there are many more places you can visit, such as Acapulco, Cancun, Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa and more. From centuries’ old history to trendsetter resorts, Mexico is truly a vacationer’s paradise. For information on how to book a vacation to Mexico, call or stop by at Remember Travel.
